Sharon Wood founded Horse for Causes initially to help adults with Autism, however the services have expanded, so that people of all ages with varied degrees of mental and physical health can access their services.
We hold our local authority license with Blaby District Council, they set our guidelines as to how we look after our horses and ponies.
Certain protocols and policies have to be met for us to function.
Each member of amazing volunteer team is DBS checked, primed in Safe guarding for children and vulnerable adults and fully insured.
Horses for Causes was set up in 2010 as a not for profit organisation with the mission of providing growth and change for people in the community.
Winners of an outstanding achievement award 2013, for their community service to improve the quality of people’s lives, the team at Horses for Causes continues to develop innovative ways to engage people through equine interaction.
We are still waiting for the ok to get back riding, for now we can remain open to support people with mental health challlenges, or working alongside schools as part of their curriculum and activities.
We would ask everyone to use hand washing facilities, sanitiser and wear a face covering.
Where we can, we need to practice social distancing.
Our team take regular flow tests, so we are putting every measure in place to make sure we remain covid free.
